Joining the discussion
- Keep it relevant to the article and treat other people with respect.
- No harassment, hate, threats, impersonation, spam or sharing someone’s private information.
- Use your own words. Link claims to sources when possible. Don’t post passwords or other private information.
- Comments and replies appear immediately. The editor may remove comments and restrict accounts after publication.
One thumbs-up per member on each article or published comment. Tap again to remove it. You can delete your own comments; a removed comment may leave a placeholder so replies still make sense.
Your member information
Google handles sign-in, and Supabase stores the account and discussion data. Google supplies basic account details to Supabase, which may include a name, email address and profile image. Your account has an identifier and email address. You choose a public display name; your email is not shown with your comments.
Published display names, comments, replies and aggregate thumbs-up counts are public. Reaction records link to a member internally; the site displays counts rather than a list of voters. Reports are sent privately to the editor.
Your browser stores the sign-in session so you can stay signed in. Membership does not sign you up to the email newsletter. Existing website analytics and third-party services have their own data practices.
Account and discussion data are used to operate the community and moderate abuse. To request account deletion or ask about your information, email [email protected]. You can remove your own comments from the discussion.

Reporting a problem
Use Report beside a published comment to flag spam, abuse or another concern. For account help or a moderation question, contact the editor.
