Cybercab registrations
Texas DMV list, the only state that publishes a count
Deep dive · Tesla
How many Cybercabs are out there, where you can ride one, and what’s verified versus only announced. Every claim on the Reality Map links to a source.
Two different vehicles. A Cybercab is Tesla’s purpose-built two-seater with no steering wheel or pedals. A Robotaxi (Model Y) is a regular Model Y running Tesla’s ride-hail service. Cybercab counts come from the Texas DMV registry, the only state that publishes one. Robotaxi totals add Texas registrations to estimates from other states. A registration isn’t the same as a car in service.

Verified operational areas, expansion announcements, regulatory calls, and vehicle sightings. Tesla’s Model Y ride-hail geofences are traced from the Robotaxi app. Cybercabs only carry public riders in Austin so far. A shape on the map is not the same as unsupervised service — each claim carries a verification status and a source.

Tesla’s own figure and the registry count are different things. Texas is the only state that publishes Cybercab registrations. A registration isn’t a car in service.
