SpaceX now operates about 2 of every 3 working satellites in orbit: 11,143 Starlinks, according to astronomer Jonathan McDowell’s catalogue.

@planet4589’s count, as of 30 September, puts every other company, government and university on Earth at 5,770 active satellites combined.

The first batch of 60 Starlinks went up in May 2019. Today, one network is close to double the rest of the world put together.

The next step is bigger satellites. This clip shows one of 26 Starlink V3s sliding out of Starship’s slot door on 28 September, the rocket’s first V3 deployment.

I knew Starlink was big, but I hadn’t realised the gap was this wide.
