Safety figures need their methodology.

Tesla’s safety report covers a defined operator-level period and excludes miles and events with an onboard safety monitor. Its live mileage counter is an estimate. Those figures should not be presented as Cybercab-only statistics or a like-for-like comparison with all human driving.

Safety sources and scope

How this tracker works.

  • Texas counts describe vehicles listed on the operator registry, via a named mirror. They are not city allocations or active vehicles.
  • Only same-scope, same-snapshot registry counts are combined into a fleet share. Regional estimates are shown separately with their source dates.
  • Tesla-listed availability, reported operation, app boundaries and vehicle observations are independent evidence tracks.
  • The map shows city records, not live vehicle locations. An app-derived area is not a vehicle-specific guarantee.
  • Source retrieval, publication, event date and first observation are separate clocks. A month-only target remains month-only.

Current registry refresh schedule: 05:35 and 17:35 UTC. Editorial source checks flag changes for review. Regional or source failures retain the last good record and expose its original date.
